Product design
We offer the full spectrum of product design capabilities. We will accompany you from drawing up technical specifications based on your requirements to a fully functional product ready for volume production and will also build the various prototypes and initial production run.We will act as an extension of your design team. We have experience of the following industry sectors:
- Biomedical
- Telecommunications
- Industrial automation
- Automotive
- Process
Prototype Production & rework
Our in-house production facilities are targeted at the prototype to smaller volume electronic manufacturing market. We offer any level of service required from simple assembly of PCBs to complete box build with component sourcing. You can be certain that whatever your needs we will bend over backwards to fulfil them. TMC now has the capability to assemble both through hole (PTH) and surface mount technology (SMT) PCBs. To date we have successfully assembled boards with a variety of component types ranging from large PTH transformers down to "0201" discrete SMT components and 456 ball microBGA devices and can handle lead free process.
Our production facilities include the following equipement:
- Quad IVc Pick & Place Machine
- Unifab Quantum 30 SMT Reflow oven
- Quad QCR 942C Reflow oven for larger boards
- PDR Infra Red Rework Unit (BGA capable) PDR1600E
- Nicolet NXR1400 Xray Machine
- Essemtec manul pick & place for single boards?
Mechanical Facilities
Within our workshop we have milling and drilling facilities,
enabling us to complete enclosures for products. This may involve
taking a standard plastic case and cutting the necessary holes for
connectors and screens or creating complex metal shapes from bare
blocks of metals, such as for the mirror test system.
Our facilities include:
- Manual mill
- Haas TM1 CNC mill
- Various small tolls including nibblers, cutters, etc
Industrial Automation

We also design and manufacture bespoke machines for automatic test and assembly lines. Our focus is on high reliability machines to minimise any production down time.
These machines draw on all our skills from machining the various mechanical fixtures, to integrating pneumatic and electrical actuators and sensors with the controller and HMI and any interface electronics.
